LitePoint TrueCableT calibrator kit increases wireless test precision

(Product News, 06 Sep 2007 )

LitePoint Corporation, an industry leading provider of advanced wireless test solutions, has announced availability of the LitePoint TrueCableT kit which measures the loss of cables used in precision wireless test set ups, such as channel emulation. Once the measurement is performed, and the file saved, it can be easily incorporated into any LitePoint IQfactT automated test program for effortless program set up. The TrueCable Calibrator allows chipset vendors, original equipment and design makers, and manufacturing quality-approval groups to achieve optimum test accuracy in a simple, straight-forward manner.

"All cables have some signal loss that varies with frequency. For accurate results, cable loss must be measured and compensated for. To this end, LitePoint designed and developed TrueCable Calibrator to measure this cable loss. Running on our wireless testers, TrueCable lets users increase measurement accuracy," said Sireesha Mallipeddi, director of product management.

The TrueCable Calibrator consists of an RF unit that is attached to an IQview or IQflex one-box tester VSG port. Used in a production or characterization setup, the instrument helps perform an accurate measurement of cable loss for a given attenuation. In addition to the RF unit, the kit includes an external power supply, adapter, software CD with program and example code, and comprehensive User Guide in a handy carrying case.
