R&S adds signal analysis to multipurpose instrument

Launched in 2006, the R&S FSUP from Rohde & Schwarz is said to be the only instrument that combines a spectrum analyzer and a phase noise tester. This instrument has now been expanded to include signal analysis functionality for mobile communications standards.
The R&S FSUP now supports Bluetooth, GSM, 3GPP, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, and 1xEV-DO. The company now offers a one-box solution for developers and manufacturers of mobile radio components and equipment, saving cost and space.
In the field of aerospace and defense, the R&S FSUP is ideal for performing measurements on high quality transmit and receive equipment such as communications systems or radar. T&M instruments must also meet very high data security requirements, especially when removed from security areas for maintenance or calibration, for example. Therefore, the R&S FSUP can now be optionally equipped with a replaceable hard disk, which can be easily removed from the instrument. This means that security-relevant information always remains within the allocated areas.
